This term, our topic will be 'Community Heroes'. We will kick off with a stunning start, where the pupils will dress as community heroes and welcome a visit from the police dog section. Each week, we will meet a different community hero, interview them, and then write a basic report about how they help keep us safe.

We will follow the JIGSAW PSHE programme, and our pupils will become confident talking about their feelings, our school values, and their rights. Phonics will continue to play a strong part in our daily routine, and we will gain confidence in blending and reading unfamiliar words.

In maths, we will continue to enjoy a daily TAPAS session focusing on key skills and improving our mental recall of number facts. We will start exploring the concept of time in our daily lives and learning about the different seasons, taking the time to find out which season we were born in. We will then move on to looking at making quantities in different ways, starting with bonds to 10. We will use a lot of practical resources such as numicon, loose parts, as well as introducing number lines.

Through other areas of the curriculum, we will look at St. Dwynwen's Day, making clay love spoons and digital art for cards, which will go home. Our term will end with Eisteddfod; pupils will take part in a variety of competitions, including art, handwriting, and singing.
