CRIW CYMRAEG
About us:
Dyma Criw Cymraeg. We are a group of 14 pupils from Year 2-6 responsible for promoting and encouraging the use of the Welsh language throughout the school. This year Criw Cymraeg are leading a number of initiatives in our school to achieve the Silver Award in the Welsh Language Charter for primary schools.

The objective of the language charter is to promote and increase the use of the Welsh language. The charter's main aim is to provide a range of enriching activities that encourage the children. to enjoy learning Welsh.
What we do:

-
We attend Criw Cymraeg meetings to monitor our progress against the charter and set actions to be completed over the following week.
-
We ensure that Welsh is used as much as possible within classes and around the school.
-
We have an active role in encouraging all pupils and staff in using everyday Welsh and promoting our Welsh culture.
-
We lead weekly Welsh assemblies; singing songs, giving out awards, sharing the phrase of the fortnight and setting challenges for the following week linked to the language charter.
-
We collect evidence for Cymraeg Campus Silver Award.
-
We report to staff, leadership and governors on the development of Welsh and progress towards Cymraeg Campus Silver Award.
