This term in Dosbarth Pwll Du, we have an exciting and historical theme  planned for our pupils. Our overarching theme is Security, Peace, and Conflict, with a particular focus on the Roman Period entitled ‘Companions or Rivals.’  We will explore how the Romans impacted Wales and research into the reasons behind their invasion across Europe. This historical lens will help students understand the complexities of conflict and the importance of peace and what the Romans brought to our country.

In literacy, we will be focusing more on World War Two by reading and discussing two captivating books: "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry and "Bandoola" by William Grill. These stories will not only enhance pupils’ reading skills but also provide valuable lessons on bravery, friendship, and conflict within the historical period of World War 2. How elephants  supported humans to achieve  freedom ijn other parts of the world..

 To further develop our learning experience, we will have daily Welsh sessions to continue developing our language skills, fostering a deeper connection to our heritage.

Our expressive arts will  develop our painting skills in preparation for our school eisteddfod, studying the art of the welsh painter Seren Bell. This will give pupils opportunities to express themselves artistically and celebrate our culture.

In science and technology, we will explore  the human body, understanding its functions, how our major organs  play a vital role in survival and how we move. We will learn the basics of coding by programming our Sphero devices, which will enhance our problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Throughout the term, students will continue to update their Digital Portfolios, reflecting on their progress and achievements.

We are looking forward to a term filled with inquiries, creativity, and researching. . There will be many opportunities for your children to grow academically, socially, and personally through opportunities linked to their well-being.
